Discover and treasure your unique family history

Strong roots, mighty branches: our family tree.

The Kaliyanthanth family traces its roots to the historic Kallupurakkel family of Kuravilangad, Kottayam, whose documented history dates back to 1870. The early male members of the Kallupurakkel lineage served as soldiers in the army of the Provincial Kings of Travancore, reflecting a proud heritage of service and commitment.

Our family’s journey began when a member of the Kallupurakkel family was married into and adopted by the Kaliyanthanth family of Niranam, Thiruvalla. From this union emerged Kaliyanthanth Thoma, the forefather of the present Kaliyanthanth lineage.

Kaliyanthanth Thoma married Mariamma, and together they laid the foundation for a growing and enduring family. They were blessed with three children:

Kaliyanthanth Korala Varkey married Charalyil Rahelamma

they had nine children: K. V. Thomas, K. V. Joshua, K. V. Mariamma, K. V. Cicily, Fr. Jacob Kaliyanthanth, K. V. George, K. V. Saramma, K. V. Abraham, and K. V. Ammamma.

Aliyamma married Kalayil Mathai

they had six children: Lillukutty, Joykutty, Kunjumol, Cicily, Mollykutty, and Jameskutty.

Kaliyanthanth Korala Thomas married Venad Mamikutty

and they had four children: Marykutty, Thressiamma, Thankkachen, and Annamma.

From these three branches, the Kaliyanthanth family has expanded across generations.

Today, the Kaliyanthanth family stands as a strong and united community of 292 members, spanning six generations from the time of Kaliyanthanth Thoma. As of February 2026, 271 members are living, while 21 have passed on, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire the generations that follow.

The Kaliyanthanth family remains a close-knit cluster of three main branches—those of Korala Varkey, Aliyamma, and Korala Thomas—bound together by shared history, faith, values, and heritage.

Our story is one of tradition, unity, and continuity—a legacy passed from one generation to the next.
